Basic information

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) is the most commonly used plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, which can make the products have good flexibility, but they have poor durability. Its stability, flexural resistance, adhesion and water resistance are all superior to those of other plasticizers. Dibutyl phthalate is commonly used as an additive in adhesives and printing inks. It is soluble in a variety of organic solvents, such as alcohol, ether and benzene. DBP is also used as a drug to kill external parasites.
