Its main raw materials are manganese ore, silica, coke, and it is supplemented with fluxes such as lime. This alloy is a commonly used composite deoxidizer in steelmaking and also serves as a reducing agent for the production of low-carbon ferromanganese and metallic manganese. During the steelmaking process, manganese can promote the floating of deoxidation products and enhance the deoxidation effect of silicon and aluminum, while silicon can increase the strength of steel and promote the graphitization of cast iron.
